Where's "Up North"?

Just draw a line east to west and anything north of Bay City would be "Up North".

It's been years since I've had time to spend up north and this was one hell of a weekend. Papa Quigs and the fam have a cabin on Jose Lake, along with a mini cabin across the street, and an open heart for their kids' friends. 4 days and 3 nights of swimming off the pontoon, tubing, card games, bags, Sun Yung, pork ribs, board games, and swinging in the hammock is enough to tire anyone out! I spent nearly the entire weekend in my bathing suit and absolutely loved it. Even though Q-ball was my friend first, his sisters are like my own...and thank goodness for that.

One of the most relaxing parts of the weekend was being disconnected from the outside world. I didn't have any cell phone reception, no internet connection, and the TV was off nearly all day. We replaced the TV with cards games with the parents and, holy crap, can Papa Quigs play cards! "New Rule: everyone put their heads on the table"

We spent the morning on my last day walking to the river. It was about a mile hike down and the water was freezing!! I tried to catch some crayfish but left that to Mama Quigs and checked out the beaver damn instead. After swimming and the hot sun draining our energy, we had to walk a mile up hill back to the car. Needless to say, the dogs passed out as soon as we were in the car and slept the rest of the afternoon!

Just remember: try to keep your water in the cup and no kicking, it's not polite :-)

Silence Not Welcomed

I sure hope you have something big up your sleeve. You know as well as I do that with all the resumes sent, if my phone continues to remain silent then it better be for a good reason.

Drunk and Pregnant

Wait...what? No way. Seriously. No way. Thanks, Meghan ;-)

Because I can't seem to keep my thoughts straight enough to for one of these to actually makes sense, here's just another update...
  • Michigan by the end of the week. Yep, it's that time. I'm moving back until a job works out somewhere only to move out again. Not quite sure which day I'll be heading home, just know I'll by home by Saturday at the latest. I'll have to return to MA, hopefully next month, to defend my thesis but I can't stay here any longer and be bored.
  • The "applied jobs" list is continually growing and I'm hoping something will actually come out of one of the many resumes I have submitted. Whether it's in MI, TN, CA, or FL, I'm just hoping a school somewhere will ask me to be a part of their softball program.
  • Boston Monday? Maybe. I would love to take one more trip into the city to walk the Freedom Trail (for a fourth time) or to read a book in the Commons. With the return of my wallet, I can try to use what's left of my Charlie Card or the Charlie Tickets in the city.
  • CH and J/A have stolen my heart. Judge me, it's okay, I'm pretty much used to it by now. I catch myself laughing outloud often and stiffling my laughter when my roommate is sleeping. Hilarious. Absolutely.
  • I'm a Twitter-er, Tweet-er...I tweet. Just started so don't get too excited but I think it's kinda fun. It's easier for me to update via text and I can add pictures! I think you should at least sign up so you can follow me, 4 followers is kinda sad.

I'll Grant You That

I tried to do a secret a day and wanted to keep it up for a year...yeah right! I made it through 45 and even the last few had some gaps in between.

Quick Update:
-The semester is over in a week and a half....I wish I wrote those papers a while ago.
-I've been job application happy. I've submitted some I wasn't anticipating a response back and one that I think would be wicked cool to hear back.
-I've been exhausted for nearly two weeks and don't expect that to change for the next week and a half.
-I hate my thesis. I'm tired of reading the same thing over and over, and that I'm struggling so much to collect data.
-As of today, I am not being allowed to march at commencement. Why? Because my thesis isn't finished. FAIL. Although I do have a meeting Friday morning in hopes to get this decision reversed.
-I get to see my family in two weeks! Whether or not I'm marching, they are coming to visit and I can't wait to take another trip to Boston with them.
-I know where I'll be in one week...do you?
-I have no idea where I'll be next fall...do you?
-Julia Nunes is my new favorite person. She should be your new favorite person, too.
